The Inner Purity is made out of Mountain Maple. Its botanical name is “Acer”, which means pointed or sharp. These attributes fit perfectly with the shape of this sculpture. In mythology, the maple represents calmness, serenity and harmony. It is said to be able to help depressed people, drive away evil spirits and fulfill dreams. For the Celts, the white wood represents inner purity.
Its leaves are reminiscent of hands spread for defense, and so the figure also spreads its tips from itself to protect the inner, which is hidden.
