The Sculpture The Force is based on a personal story. I almost lost my hand in an accident, but thanks to the good doctors in whose care I was, my hand was saved. The Force was the first figure I worked on after this accident. While I was working, I couldn’t stop thinking about the time I spent in hospital, about the people and the amount of suffering. I felt how much strength the wood gave me while I was sanding it. I imagined how this figure could give strength and courage to all the people in the hospital. Just touching and looking at the wood can strengthen a person and make them feel positive. Things that touch us can positively influence bodily processes, such as feelings of pain and fatigue, stress reactions, metabolism, regeneration and healing after injuries. The effect of the psyche on the body is huge.
I wanted to give the figure to the hospital, but unfortunately they did not accept it.
